Our story began in the 1970s with an ambitious curtain pole salesman and an idea. Our founder started making blinds by hand in a spare bedroom at home, using cardboard roller tubes and selling his creations at the local market.

From those modest beginnings, the business grew. Orders from well-known high street stores brought new opportunities, eventually leading to relationships with suppliers in China and a large warehouse in Corby. What started at home had become an established business supplying retailers.

In 2009, a new chapter began. Recognising the potential of online shopping, our founder’s eldest child opened an eBay store. The response exceeded expectations, and a dedicated team soon took shape. His younger children joined after finishing their education, making the business a true family endeavour.

Today, we proudly sell across a range of online marketplaces. Like many family businesses, we’ve experienced both successes and challenges. The pandemic marked a significant turning point, as growing demand for online shopping allowed us to invest further in the business and build for the future.

And don’t worry—we’ve come a long way since those cardboard tubes! Our roller blinds now use quality metal tubes, though the same care and ambition that started the business are still at the heart of what we do.

Now, our founder and his children are working towards a shared ambition: creating a lasting legacy for the next generation. As The Blinds Outlet continues to grow, our aim remains simple—to help you make your house a home with stylish, high-quality window furnishings at affordable prices.
